Evan Schwartz Lectures to National Audience About Long Term Disability Insurance

At the invitation of the American Conference Institute, founding partner Evan Schwartz lectured to a national audience, consisting of primarily attorneys, concerning emerging issues in the handling of long term disability claims in the claims process prior to filing a lawsuit. Recognizing the intense scrutiny the disabled now face when filing a claim for benefits, Mr. Schwartz walked the audience through strategies for handling numerous complex issues. Those issues included proving up an insured’s occupational duties, responding to requests by insurers for both IMEs and FCEs (Independent Medical Examinations and Functional Capacity Evaluations), and supporting an insured suffering with both cognitive and memory issues. Mr. Schwartz also addressed the sophisticated financial issues that arise with partial/residual disability claims, or claims of total disability where the insurer is attempting to treat the claim as a partial or residual disability, rather than total disability.

This event is Mr. Schwartz’s fourth invitation to lecture at a national forum, which is widely attended by claims professionals, insurers, and attorneys throughout the United States.
