BIOGRAPHY

James Volpe brings a strong foundation in business litigation and insurance matters to Schwartz, Conroy & Hack. A 2024 graduate of St. John’s University School of Law, where he earned Dean’s List recognition and received the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Drafting: Federal Civil Practice. James was admitted to the New York State Bar in May 2025.

James joined our firm as an associate in April 2026, bringing valuable experience from his previous role, where he demonstrated exceptional litigation skills. James successfully obtained dismissals in complex commercial disputes involving breach of contract, RICO, and fraud claims, secured summary judgment for clients in liability matters, and negotiated favorable settlements in copyright and employment cases, achieving resolutions significantly below plaintiff demands.

James’s experience spans the full spectrum of our practice areas. He has actively managed substantial caseloads while drafting comprehensive litigation documents, attending court conferences, and advising clients on compliance matters. His background includes a judicial internship in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, where he gained valuable insights into federal litigation practice.

Prior to law school, James earned his Bachelor of Arts in Literature from Bard College, including a study abroad experience in Berlin, Germany.

His proven track record of achieving favorable outcomes for clients makes James a valuable addition to our litigation team.

James is admitted to practice in New York State.
