BIOGRAPHY
Cherie is an accountant with over 30 years of experience in government and non-profit accounting, bringing a wealth of expertise to our firm. As the firm’s bookkeeper, Cherie works with the team and the firm’s CFO on payables, receivables, bank reconciliations and financial analytics. Cherie is patient, meticulous and reliable, helping to keep the firm’s operations running smoothly.
Cherie’s extensive background includes roles such as Claims/Audit Supervisor for the Nassau County Drug and Alcohol Department, Program Development Supervisor for the ESG Emergency Homeless Grant, Fiscal Liaison for the Nassau County Office of Youth Services, and Accountant/Grants Manager for the Nassau County Department of Health HIV/AIDS Grant.
Prior to her civil service career with Nassau County, Cherie gained valuable experience as a Jr. Accountant for Island Federal Bank. Her diverse roles in civil service have enriched her perspective on public and community service.
Cherie holds a bachelor’s degree from Nyack College and an advanced master’s certificate in accounting with honors from the University of Phoenix. Her comprehensive experience and dedication make her an invaluable asset to our team
Throughout her career, Cherie Edmonston has been recognized with numerous awards, citations, and honors for her steadfast commitment to serving her community and supporting those living with HIV/AIDS. Among her most treasured accolades is a recognition from former President George W. Bush, acknowledging her exceptional contributions to the HIV/AIDS community, achieved alongside her beloved brother, Dr. Anthony Dale Edmonston. Most recently, Cherie was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from ABG Ministries in recognition of her dedication to her community.
